On 31 May, we commissioned our latest high-power 210 kW electric car charger in Asoofe, which features a number of innovations compared to conventional chargers. The charger is located at the Páhi Car and Rubber Service Centre in Aszófő (8241 Aszófő, Tihanyi utca 2). We thank Eszter Páhi Lengyel and Csaba Páhi and Páhi E-Power Kft. for their trust and cooperation! Plugshare link: https://www.plugshare.com/location/891209

Genuine island charger DC

This charger is fully self-sufficient: it is powered by a 120 kWp solar farm, which feeds a 200 kWh LFP battery system.

The entire system works on a DC basis - the solar farm generates DC of electricity, which is fed directly into the battery, and from there we also feed DC of energy into the electric cars. This solution results in very low system losses.

Our first customer sent us a picture. Thank you!

Power

The final power output of the charger will be 210 kW, which we aim to reach gradually during the test run. Currently, we have started the service with 105 kW. The charger is equipped with two CCS2 cables with a maximum current of 500 A at start-up, which will be increased to 620 A during the test period.

We calculate that the solar panel system can produce up to 1 MWh of energy per day, enough to charge 20-30 electric cars.

Pricing

A new pricing model will be applied: at night we will charge a fixed price of 249 HUF/kWh, and during the day the price may drop to 129 HUF/kWh depending on the intensity of the sunshine. The expected prices will be published on our website three days in advance.

Maximum solar energy production is expected this weekend, so we provide charging from sunrise to sunset on both days at 129 Ft/kWh. We will also be installing a POS credit card terminal within 1-2 weeks.

Environmental aspects

Our charger 100% uses locally generated energy. Thanks to smart energy management, the charging energy is primarily drawn directly from the solar panel and only the difference is taken from the battery.

Economic benefits

Island operation means significant cost savings: you don't pay for energy, system charges or monthly availability fees. The latter would otherwise amount to HUF 2.5 million per year for a 210 kW charger.

The system takes 4-5 months to install, compared to several years for conventional mains-powered chargers.

Location and services

In the spirit of sustainability, the driveway and pavement are made from recycled asphalt. The solar panels not only generate energy, but also provide shade and protection in the rain.

Soon we will open an air-conditioned lounge building with a children's corner, which will provide a comfortable waiting area during the charging period.

Test facility

We welcome electric car owners to test our charger and share their experiences with us. This test period will help us fine-tune the system and further improve the service.
