PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release
Asoofo, 31 May 2025. - Today, we witnessed a historic moment: the opening of the public test run of evDirect's revolutionary electric car charger in Asoofő. We are proud to announce that we have created what we believe is the world's best electric car charger - an innovative solution that is unique in the world and represents a new milestone in electromobility.
Fully self-sufficient, island-powered technology
The revolutionary feature of our charger is that it provides fully islanded operation. Unlike conventional chargers, we do not rely on any external power source. Our system is powered by a 120 kWp solar farm provides the energy to power a 200 kWh capacity LFP (lithium iron phosphate) feeds the battery system.
The key to technological innovation is a complete in DC-rail operation lies in. The solar park generates DC of electricity, which is fed directly into the battery, also in DC form, and then the charging modules transfer the energy in DC to the electric cars. This innovative approach results in an extremely low system loss of only 4.6% according to our calculations - an unprecedented efficiency in the industry.
Excellent performance and gradual expansion
Maximum power of the charger 210 kW, but we will gradually build up to full capacity during the public test run. Today we launch the service with 105 kWThe charger is equipped with two CCS cables and currently provides a maximum current of 500 A, which will be increased in stages to 620 A during the test period.
Revolutionary pricing model
Our charging system represents a completely new concept in electric car charging. Fixed at 249 Ft/kWh during the night a fee is applied, while Days depending on the intensity of the sun up to 129 HUF/kWh-the charging rate could be reduced to. We publish the expected prices on our website three days in advance, so our chargers can plan their costs in advance.
Maximum solar energy production is expected this weekend, so we will provide charging from sunrise to sunset on both days at a discounted rate of 129 HUF/kWh. We will soon be installing a POS credit card terminal, which is expected to be available to our customers within 1-2 weeks.
Real green energy use
We are particularly proud that our charger 100% uses locally produced green energy. While other suppliers offer green energy packages, these are typically generated at other sites, so they actually take green energy from elsewhere. In contrast, our system does not take energy from anywhere, but generates it specifically for the purpose of charging electric cars.
Through intelligent energy management, our charger draws its charging energy primarily directly from the solar panel. Only the amount of energy needed to achieve maximum charging performance is drawn from the battery. For example, if a car requires 100 kW of power and the sun is shining at 70 kW, we only draw 30 kW from the battery.
Significant capacity and sustainability
According to our calculations, the solar panel system can 1 MWh per day so that, in theory, up to 20-30 electric cars can be safely charged. Solar panels not only produce energy, but also provide real shade and protection in the rain - they are not just for decoration.
Fast installation and low running costs
Another major advantage of our system is its fast deployment. While the construction of such a charging system takes only 4-5 months, conventional grid-connected chargers, with their 210 kW power requirements, can usually take several years to install due to the necessary grid upgrades.
The maintenance costs are also extremely low, as not only do you not have to pay for energy, but the investment saves on system usage fees and a fixed monthly availability fee. The latter is a particularly significant saving, as the availability fee for a 210 kW charger is HUF 2.5 million per year, which is also paid even if there is no charging. With our stand-alone system, these costs are completely avoided.
Modern infrastructure and services
Our charger in Asoo Páhi Car and Rubber Service built in the area (8241 Aszófő, Tihanyi utca 2.). We would like to thank Eszter Páhiné Lengyel and Csaba Páhi and the Páhi E-Power Kft. for the investment and the trust with which we have been able to implement this revolutionary project. We would also like to thank the InfyPower and the Electric Direct team for the development and installation of the charging system.
In the spirit of sustainability, we made the driveway and the entire pavement from unique, recycled asphalt. Next to the charger, we will create an air-conditioned lounge building that will provide a comfortable place to relax during the charging process. The lounge will also include a children's corner, making it ideal for families. The building is currently under construction and is expected to open in 1-2 weeks.
Vision and commitment
As the evDirect team, we are committed to contributing to a more sustainable future with new innovations in electromobility. Our charging station in Asoofő is not just another charging station, but a showcase of future technology that proves that electric transport can be fully self-sufficient, environmentally friendly and economical.
We welcome all electric car owners to test this unique charging experience and be part of this technological revolution.
